Discussion: Building a Healthy Economy from the Bottom Up

On Tuesday, December 6th, beginning at 7pm, the Kensington Community Food Cooperative will host Anthony Flaccavento in a discussion of his new book, Building a Healthy Economy from the Bottom Up.

Flaccavento is an organic farmer and sustainable development consultant from the Central Appalachian area of Virginia who has worked with cooperatives and launched a variety of social enterprises designed to help create an economy that builds local wealth, strengthens communities and restores the land and ecosystem.

The conversation will highlight emerging “bottom up” economies in both rural and urban communities, while also discussing efforts to rebuild our public debate and politics. This talk is free and open to both KCFC members and the community.  Books will be available for purchase at the talk.
